Compression Test

I just purchased a 2003 MerCruiser 4.3L. Serial#: 0M047305.

I think it is fine but I want to perform a compression test just to see where I am.

What is the easiest and best way to disable the ignition?

Kill switch or pull the coil wire.

Yep, and do the first one dry, the second time wet.

Turn the key off and use a starter switch with alligator clips to crank the engine.
