My neighbor filled up my boat and seems to have topped it off. The hot weather has led to some seapage out of the gas cap.

The gas has stained my normaly white rub rail yellow. I have tried to carefully apply some bleach but it didnt seem to have an effect. Any ideas related to what would make it white again (I realize replacing it would work but hoping to find a less expensive alternative)

Thanks

Any auto store carries a product called "Bleach White" which is used to clean white wall tires and white letter tires. It works great and I also use to clean grass stains for my yard work tennis shoes. Makes them white as new. I would not use acetone on plastic.

Bleach White works well do not use in direct sun as it might yellow. You might put a 10% bleach and water solution on it, wet paper towels and leave on spot for about 10 minutes the scrub off.

Home Depot sells a product called Goof-Off. This stuff will do a great job.
