$120, really? So the choke solenoid on my 1975, 115HP model Evinrude (make #115593) went out. I've done some research and the cheapest I can find is around $120. Seems like the few HPs below and above, however, are far less expensive! What makes such a small part so expensive? Is anyone aware of any quick fixes or alternatives?

I just find it hard to believe these are so costly. P/N I found for the solenoid is 0386664 and it's classified as SOLENOID Assy., Choke. Any thoughts guys?

Re: Choke Solenoid

Not positive but maybe the fact that the motor itself is 35 yrs old may have something to do with it. Limited stock possibly?

Have you looked to see if an aftermarket like Sierra sells it? May save a few dollars....

There is always ebay for a used one!!
