I have a 1995 75 HP Mariner ELPTO with cracked bolt holes on it and want to replace the assembly. I found the pricing for it. Approx. $150.
What I would like to know is how hard it is to R/R the unit.

Simply remove the 2 bolts and turn the carrier by taping on the area the bolts went through to turn it and then tap on the back to remove it or install a old prop on the shaft and tap it out. You may also use a long 2 jaw puller around the shaft into the carrier to pull it. When reinstallig make sure the shift pin is in the shaft you can hold it with grease
