Re: Can you catch and keep blue gill in a tank?
Can't speak to legality, but many years ago, a good friend had several 'gills and similar fish in a tank, along with a crawfish or two. The gills were a beautiful green and he actually had one trained to come to the surface and take a crawler out of his hand. Awesome! The crawfish was not trainable, but it was still cool to watch it eat. He fed it some sort of pellets. Don't recall what he fed the gills. We lived right next to the lake and I know he tried to keep other fish (like bass and also perch) Neither of those survived if I remember correctly. Of course, the bass would have been sub-legal size.
Also, if you go to a Cabelas or BassPro store, they have all sorts of large game fish in a huge aquarium in the store.
