I just got this boat yesterday, and it says its a "Stinger" 1977. However when I'm trying to find anything on this bass boat or anything at all I can't find anything that looks remotely like it other than the older Ranger boats.

Hopefully someone here can help me with the model. Im trying to find other pictures of this same boat to get a better idea of what it looked like new.

Thanks in advance!interior.jpgsideview.jpgfront hull.jpg

Look at the transom and search on the upper corners of the transom on the outside for a Hull Identification Number

It (Should) will start with 3 letters and that is the identity of the manufacture. The last two digits in your case should be 77 which is the year made.

"Looks" mean not too much in boating and there are MANY that "look" alike ;)

Could be a Glasstream too. Buncha' boats built like that in the 80's. Make a nice fishing boat if it's in good shape.

Welcome aboard.

The hull number starts with SVU which is stinger. and the ending numbers are 77. I am wondering however if it is possible that someone redid the boat and lost identification on it, and went to coast guard and re registered it? Is that possible?

Says Stinger

Thanks its a decent boat. Already found stringer, and floor rot that we're in the process of redoing.

Its actually pretty wide. the pics make it look skinny. Its almost 7ft wide.

Basically i've done so much searching on the Stinger brand name and nothing comes up for it except for the new Lowe aluminum boats.

I would love to see the way this boat is supposed to be in brand new or at least fixed up new condition.

Thanks for the responses.

^^^ Who knew? They were up at the north end of town.

Bublebee, Triton and Stratos have all been here (or are here) over the years.

That boat will beat you to death in any kind of chop or passing over an oncoming wake. Totally sucks but that was the craze from late '60's for about 20 years......like all fads, comes and goes.
