can anyone ID this fuel fitting?

This came in a box of Nissan/Tohatsu parts. It looks like an engine-side fitting, but there's no nipple for the fuel line. The threads are the same as one of the common Nissan fuel inlet fittings (3B2-70260-1), and the ring where the QD balls in the female fitting would sit is in the same position. I don't think it's a tank fitting, due to the ring position, the threads, and the check valve shape.

I don't think it's useful for any of my motors - if I knew what it was, I could pass it along.

Does anyone recognize this?

It's an old male metric fuel fitting that was used on the Nissan/Tohatsu steel fuel tanks. It hasn't been used in ages and will almost certainly never be used as a replacement nipple for the OEM steel tank.

Thanks, I might even have a metal tank buried in the garage. I'll have to check it, I thought the ones I have required different female fittings on each end of the line to keep it from being installed backwards.
