Can anyone comment on the Yamaha 60hp 2 stroke? I bought it used (2000 model) with my boat and I would like feedback on reliability, maintenance and general comments. I had it checked out by a mechanic and he says all looks good

I have a 97 C60 on a 15ft High Tide. I have owned it for about a year with the previous owner giving it moderate use. I have had no serious problems with it so far. The high temp alarm went off one very cold AM and I subsequently put in a new thermostat and water pump and to the best of my examination it caused no harm. Past that, anytime it hasn't cranked or worked right, it was always something else like the gas or tank feed etc and not the motor.
