Hi everyone, It's been a while...

I presently have an Evinrude 100hp 1989 on my 21'boat.
I have the opportunity to buy a Johnson 90hp 2004, bought in 2005. It has about 60hrs.
The asking price is $4600. canadian

Unfortunatly, it's not an E-Tec model, but it is a more recent model. I definatly can not afford a new outboard, and finding a used motor in my region is RARE!!!

I would appreciate all opinons on my new purchase.

Thanks

my first question would be why is a 2004 for sale? going to larger motor, boat rotten, these would be acceptical reasons. if it's a repo, is questionable. along with this check it out completely, spark, compression, lower unit fluid for water. hopefully it's mounted so you can test run it. technically controls are suppose to go with the motor.

Not a boat question. Moving to outboard Non-repair.

The reason why he is selling is he wants to upgrade for a 150hp.

That's pretty much the reason why.
