Bravo III trim manifold replacement - disconnecting mercathode wires??

I am replacing the trim manifold and cannot find a connector any any way to disconnect the mercathode wires so that I can pull them through. I pulled the rubber seal in the mercathode and no luck.

Do I need to cut are re-sodder these 2 wires?? Snaking them through the drive seems to disconnect them at the controller seems like too much work.

See the 2 photos above. There is no way to pull the 2 wires up through the trim manifold.

Mine all have plug/connectors,.. not far from the mercathode

I guess the cheaped out on mine. Perhaps I'll look for a waterproof connector at Canadian tire and splice one in.
