bottom painting

I'm in southeastern NC Carolina and own a Carolina Skiff DLX 17.8. Can anyone give me a wild assed guess for a fair cost to have it bottom painted? COVID has made prices of everything so unpredictable, thanks.

Having never been painted it will need to be sanded, 2 coats barrier and 2 coat bottom paint at a minimum. Depends on what paint will be used because premium paint cost more

Barrier around $50 gal
Ablative around $230 gal

For a 18 footer I would say first time $800 to $1000

beware, marinas sometimes forget to prime the hull. Then the paint falls off real easy.

They never forget to charge for priming, though.
