According to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office, 18-year-old Christopher Scott Jenkins was killed Sunday afternoon when his jet ski crashed with a boat in a private lake along Rt. 9 in Hillsboro.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. Sunday when a Bayliner Jazz boat that was occupied by an adult and a child struck Jenkins' jet ski in the lake, according to the sheriff's office.
Jenkins was taken to a located hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the boat was taken to Inova Loudoun Hospital where he was being treated for serious injuries. The child was taken to Winchester Medical Center and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Not a bad kid, good baseball player. Too bad about the judgement. If I recall this is only about a 2 ac. pond. Sounds like an awful lot of hp in a confined space.
