Boat will not started

Last Saturday put boat in water, turn key crank once,try again not a sound,try jumping still no sound. Pull boat out of water when home try jumpimg from car still no sound, try jumping from starter motor still nothing. Please help any suggests. Someone said it may be starter, Help Help. by the way it a 1993 Four Winn sundancer 195/190hp. with a 5.0 omc (help Help)

If there is no 'click' sound when power is applied, I would guess one of two things.. 1) somehow your connections are not allowing enough juice to activate the solenoid or 2) Your solenoid is not working.<br /><br />If you get the click then it either 1) see 1) above, 2) starter is bad and needs rebuild, or 3) engine frozen, or 4) solenoid contacts corroded not allowing enough juice to spin starter.<br /><br />If you can you might give a couple of light taps with a rubber mallet on the starter itself to see if that frees it up. Lightly though. <br /><br />Just my .02

more than likely if the connections are good, the starter solenoid is struck. As stated above, give it a gentle wack with a mallet which should free a stuck spring in a solenoid
