Bilge blower repair

Hello! I’m tinkering with my new-to-me boat, 2002 Glastron SX195. The bilge blower motor works but, the prop broke and the duct is bad.
I have some choices:
1. New 3” blower and duct.
2. Use the 4” blower that I have and buy 4” duct. The problem I have with this option is the through-hull vents are made for 3” duct. I can probably crimp the end of the 4” and fasten that to the 3” vents.
Thoughts? I appreciate your input!

Buy a new 3" blower and duct. That's the size the designers calculated to work and no fudging the make a 4 incher work.

Ah. That’s a perspective I hadn’t considered. Tunnel vision! Thanks!

No offense, GA-Boater, but they put in a 3" blower because it was 'good enough' and cheaper than a 4" blower, ducting and vent fitting. There's zero downside and at least some upside to going bigger on a bilge blower.

That said, I wouldn't force 4" ducting onto a 3" fitting. You need a decent seal to evacuate the air in the bilge. Put in a new 3" blower and duct.

Yeah. That was my concern as well. I don’t really want to do what’s necessary to fully go 4”. I’m sticking with the 3”...for now.
