In my previous post I asked about Powertech Props. Walleyehed wrote "There are better performing props for the same or less money." I'm wondering what everyone's opinion (especially Walleyehed, because I truly consider him a prop specialist) is on what the best performing prop is for the money. Thank you all in advance for your input.

Re: Best Prop for the Money

In my view that question cannot be answered because it depends on the boat, engine, setup, load and other requirements. One prop cannot maximize all performance criteria. You can have speed, hole shot, cruise, bow lift, bite at max trim, and the other things I didn't mention but not all from one prop. However, if you pick one or two, or even three characteristics that are important to you, then yes, you can get specific. Even then, there are compromises that must be made -- however slight. He's all yours Walleyhed. d:)

I understand your post Silvertip. I should have asked "Who makes the best quality prop for the money?"

Re: Best Prop for the Money

Take this how you wish, salt or sugar....
In my testing of over 200 props now, I've found the Turbo and Stiletto lines to consistantly perform near or at the top in most situations...Now, let's keep in mind there are about 12 different styles of props between the 2-not counting, but close to that, and as Silvertip said, each application and intended use will be different.
The Stiletto series will cover alot of applications, even in the std Advantage models, and you can add a bit more technology going with a std Turbo1, and in many cases of general boating, this prop is tough to beat.
Turbo also offers a few other models that in most cases of thru-hub props and propper set-up, can't be beat.
Just remember, the application will be the deciding factor as to "how much" technology you need to reach your goal.
