I want to buy a fishfinder/gps with maps for under 1000$

I'm looking at the brand new Lowrance elite 7 chirp for 799$ (with down imaging) and navionics+ maps for 179.99$

Total package is around 1000$

For that price, do you think I can get something better than this?

I fish freshwater with dept of 5ft to 70ft.

Thank you.

I really like my elite 7. I have had it for about 1.5 years and have had no issues what so ever with it. thoug I think I remember paying around $699 for it at Bass Pro.

The elite 7 chirp is the replacement model for the elite 7

Yes.... HDS-7 gen2........Gamin echomap 70S, Garmin echoMap 70DV

So the implementation of chirp technology is not that important?

Also these 3 models, to have down imaging are about 400$ more expensive than the elite 7, at 1000$ it's ready to be used.

the Garmin echomap are 1080$ and need to add map and the transducer.

I have a Humminbird 798 that includes Down Imaging and Side Scan Imaging.
You can see up to 240 feet to either side of the boat at the same time. It really works!

I like my Elite 7 & as well with Down Scan Imagining and the ability to overlay as well as the 3 way screen split. I believe there is a sale on the Lowrance products
