Beep every two seconds, 1998 Mercruiser 5.0, tbi

I have a 1998 Mercruiser 5.0, ser # L619326, that gives a beep every two seconds. This is while the engine running at idle with muffs on. Oil pressure looks ok on gauge, drive oil level is ok. Did a search on this forum and didn't find this problem with anyone else. This happens to be after I installed new block....maybe I have missed hooking up some wire.
Engine rev's up fine (no load) but just has this beep. Two seconds on and two seconds off. any ideas? thanks

Sounds like it's time to get it hooked up to a diagnostic computer and find out what is causing the alarm.
