Bayliner Santiago gas tank replacement

I am replacing the gas tank in an old Bayliner Santiago. My question is, does the gas tank serve as hull reinforcement in this boat? It looks like the tank has to act as bulk heads in this area of the boat. Any helpful comments would be welcome.

No, it does not serve as support for the hull. Post some pics of what you're working on and we'll be glad to help you with your restoration issues.
