battery compartment connections

My father removed the battery last winter and now we do not know: 1. what these wires are for and 2. not exactly sure which terminals they are suppose to be connected to, neg or pos.

The yellow connector loop is small and will only fit on the negative terminal.

The two black connector loops are bigger and will fit over the positive terminal.

A digital voltmeter is your friend... LOL

I can tell you that my '78 SeaMaster had multiple ground wires. All lights and pumps came back to a common place. There was a seperate ground wire for the front light, rear light, livewell pump, and bilge pump.
