Battery Charging

Another dumb question. Does the battery have to be disconnected to be put on slow charge for a few days?<br /><br />If so, what gets damaged if it isn't disconnected.<br /><br />Tach is now acting strange since charging the battery while connected to the system.<br /><br />1978 55hp Johnson <br /><br />Smitty

JBs probably going to move this post.<br /><br />I see know reason that charging your battery while connected is going to cause any problems. Im sure your ignition was off so there is know way of stray voltage getting to the tach. I charge my Batteries in my Bass boat both starting and trolling while in the boat and things are fine.
