I've not seen any pics like these, the middle of bottom of boat is chalky, rough, lots of holes, corrosion areas up against seam where middle "runner" fastens to bottom. (SEE PICS). We don't know if paint of any kind will fix this. Yes we'll GLUV IT the inside, but this has to have something done? ANY suggestions? Boat will be in fresh water and trailered. We thought it was from midwest, but this looks like what I've read on here as salt water corrosion. I've powerwashed it, and that's as far as we've come. Waiting for advice. Thanks.

Re: Bad Corroded Holes In Boat Bottom

CLean it real good.... use some light sandpaper. Wipe the area down with vinegar and let it dry. On the outside of the hull place some tape on the hull now position the boat and paint that area with gluvit.... real thick. once it dries do it 3 or 4 more times to build it up to at least 1/8" thick.

Flip the boat and give it a coating from the outside.

You have galvanic corrosion. the gluvit will stop it but you should paint it. Gluvit does not have any uv protection and will break down over time in direct sun.
