Im finishing up a project boat 19.5 cuddy. Its got an aq131a in it. It had a 275 outdrive but had alot of corrosion. I picked up a second motor and outdrive 125a 270. I was planning on using the 270 everything will bolt up but i hit a snag on the prop. The 275 had a right hand prop the 270 has a left hand prop. I understand these drives will go both ways but is there a reason the 275 was right hand. I thought most vp drives used left hand. Both drive where from single drive boats.
Also with the 270 is it better to to run one way verse the other?

Newer models (late 80s and newer) do use mostly RH rotation props, the older models used a lot of LH to counteract prop torque. Didn't really help that much. but they did use them. Just pick the prop you want, change the rotation of the drive to whatever prop you find. The details on changing rotation is inside the cover on the back of the drive.

Thanks for the quick reply Don.
Is there a major difference between the 270,275,280 drives?
Is one better then the other or just production date differences.
