Anybody watching Hockey Day in Canada ?

Was wondering if any of our guys were watching the game in Calgary. Not a big fan of either
team, but playing hockey out-doors is something alot of us remember. Its a lot of fun to watch.
It was alot of fun way back then, too. Eating snowballs off your mittens, looking for lost pucks
in the snowbanks, and thawing your feet in front of the Stove (yes, I'm that old..51)
I hope the guys have a good time in Calgary,

CRUD, did not know there was a outside game on today!!!!


(but I do remember playing hockey on the outdoor rinks in altidore/calgary. BRRRRRRR)

Its been advertised for a bit now, the intros were very good. 'Five For Fighting'
played the opening.
(pond hockey was so fun, back then)

Yup remember it fondly. Mater of fact I played on the same out door rink that Carrie Price played on.
Montreal need to pull there socks up down by 3

Wow, we missed out on a hockey thread !!!! I watched the game. not overly exciting but very entertaining to watch. not a fan of either team but good to watch by the fireplace with a chivas and a beer taking the occasional glance at the driving snow outside !!!

I saw an advertisement about it but I couldn't find it on TV, I bet I needed the center ice package to get it and I haven't had that in a couple years, hope it was a good game though!!

it was on CBC here in Canada and I think the NHL network elsewhere.
You did not miss much excitement wise but it sure was fun to watch them playing on awful ice conditions

I don't think they used the zamboni to clean it. it was shovels taking the snow off as far as I could see.

no kidding? what was the ice to warm? How could that be?

You know the ice is too warm when the puck leaves a wake behind it !!

I have played on rinks that freeze unevenly and after the Zamboni leaves the ice some spots will stay wet for 4 or 5 minutes of the next period. Sort of like the Boston arena where the Celtics knew where the soft spots were on the floor.
