Fastest way to be shunned is to be disrespectful of any/all advice given. You give minimal information in your initial post and expect an answer, for free, over the internet...have a little grace. These guys enjoy helping people with their problems, they strive to be as accurate as they can given the information provided. This is a public forum moderated and run by a guys that get nothing in return but the satisfaction of the assistance...The value they bring is beyond comprehension!

I have (and had) the two VP engines, neither had the valves (one was carbureted and one is EFI)? Not until I saw the diagram could I understand what you were talking about?!

BTW, nice Van Halen nod...I guess everybody wants some?
