I have a 14' Aluminum jon boat - wide beam - plan to use it to fish the tidal creeks. I needed some advise about how to rig for hoisting my anchor - don't want it in my way any more than necessary. I'd appreciate help and advice. (location for cleat etc.)

Re: Anchor rigging

Not sure what your boat looks like, but why not simly tie the anchor to the eye of the boat in front?

Re: Anchor rigging

Put the anchor and rigging in a bucket, and a cleat on the bow, apply the std cleat tie, so the rode can be quickly adjusted.Be sure to tie the end to the boat, thru a hole in the btm of the bucket, use a lid on the bucket when not in use,the line stays dry,and the bucket drains when wet.
