alpha one gen one flush port

hey all i need some advise on a idea i am having i have a alpha one gen one connected to a 351w i know that i can add a flush port to the engine itself to flush the engine however since the seapump is in the alpha one i am confused on how to deal with not burning out the seapump

all you do is hook the muffs to the lower unit and flush away

i know about the muffs I just really hate having a lake aroundthe boat will working on the motor just from around the muffs was trying to get out of using them.

you are going to have water coming out the exhaust anyways

besides, if the pump is working properly you will have little to no "spillage" out the muffs, but you WILL get water out the back of the boat anyways due to the exhaust

well I will try a different set of muffs (as they are atleast 20yrs old) then as I just did a full rebuild on the sea pump and I get a steady flow around them even with the engine running.

Ayuh,.... That's pretty normal at idle,.... Ya Want excess water...

Is it passin' exhaust water too,..??

Ayuh,.... Expelled water, from the idle relief ports on the transom.... Proof, water is goin' Through the motor...

OK yeah I am getting water from them I guess I am just being paranoid as this is the first seapump I have installed in this out drive and the old one was horrable looking to the point the impeller was melted (used boat/drive)

try pulling the prop and puting the lower unit in a 55 gallon drum will cut down on mess
