My trim pump is always covered in oil. I though it was the really loose yellow plastic cap, so I gut some teflon tape to build up the threads. I don't think it is the cap any more. I have tried torquing all the fittings and have not found a single one that was lose. Thus, I am stumped. I cannot tell where any fluid is leaking from. It is a very slow leak and has been like this since I bought the boat 6 years ago. I will top it off probably for the first time in those 6 years this season. It does not affect performance and it works great. However, I am just getting sick and tired of the constant mess and would like to solve this. Also, I am frustrated I cannot tell from where it is leaking.

Does anyone have any advice on where these tend to leak? Any ideas for solving this.

Thanks!

Maybe it's the oring between the reservoir and the pump.
