all new parts, still no spark

1990 Evinrude 175 XP - VE175SLESE
just replaced stator, powerpack and reg/rect last friday. she started up right away and ran like a charm. 14.1 volts going to new battery. charging as expected even with lights and bilge on.

went back on monday and no spark at all. lanyard in place.

friend suggested may be timer base and sensor coil. are these 2 items sold separately or as 1 unit? if 2, can i just replace sensor coil?

what could have happened between friday and monday to cause this or did something happen during the 15 minutes it was running?

after extensive testing on ignition wiring, found that the 5 pin female connector on the PP has only 3 receptacles in place. The 2 bl/y and the w/bl wires have the receptacles in place and the y/r and tan wires do not. could this be causing the no fire condition i now have and can i jump the 2 missing wires?

i read where the y/r wire is needed for ignition.

Any ideas or suggestions?
