I'm trying to decide which is the best for performance and longevity, storage is not an issue and I will be using them to power my 70# mn kota which is my only power source on my 14'x8' aluminum pontoon craft

Re: agm or flooded

Rather than using just "performance" as a gauge, try using "cost AND performacne" as a gauge. You can buy a very large deep cycle for roughly half to 2/3 of the cost of a comparable AGM and actual peformance will be no different. It is the amp/hour rating of the battery that determines how long that battery will power something. An 75 a/hr deep cycle will have the same performance as a 75 a/hr AGM. The cost for that performance with be much less for a flooded battery. In fact you can probably get two of them for very little more than one AGM. Properly taken care of the flooded battery will also last as long as the AGM so cost of ownership is less.
