Doing a rip-out and rewire of a '78 Ranger 1776. I haven't done much electrical before, and was hoping to get some comments/advice on any changes needed on the diagram I've done up. (Suggested wire sizes etc.)
I've been searching around for diagrams and I think I've seen everything here (thanks silvertip et al), so maybe with some tweaks this diagram could help someone else out.

Good diagram, but 2 things.

First, your tach and fuel gauge will get their power from the engine harness, with the key in the "run" position. Don't power them up from "house power" as you have shown.

Second, your bilge pump, if it has a separate float switch. One wire from the float goes to constant hot off your battery switch. The other wire goes with the switched hot from the helm, terminated to the brown wire off the bilge pump itself.

Other than that, excellent schematic!:)
