Adding on to my transom and swim platform

I am working on a project where I am adding a small storage box that is on the swim platform and will fasten to the transom (It will be above the water line). What type of plywood is the best to use oak, ??? The box is 10in wide 18 in deep approx. 12 in high It will open on the top. I will be covered with cloth and resin sanded smooth and painted, it needs to be STRONG . What type of adhesive should I use to put it all together( the box )with before I glass it. Its kinda hard to explain what Im doing but after I get some ideas and opinions on what to use I will post pictures of what Im working on. You could always build a mold and just make it out of fiberglass .. just a suggestion.
