acetone on gel coat ?

to remove black marks on the boat, all on the keel.. used a little compound to remove, to much effort and not enough effort without removing the gel coat...can i use acetone to remove this black rubber like marks...thanks alot !!

It should be fine. Any wax will be removed along with the black marks.

It wont hurt a thing. It evaporates way to fast to do any damage to the gel coat. From recommendations from other iboaters i used it to help remove old carpet from my boat with out any harm to the boat.
