OK, I got lots of good help regarding my NAV and anchor light problem.
Now my question is what should PROPERLY be attached to the Accessory switch? I only have one.
I have a bilge pump switch and that is connected to the bilge pump.
Should the VHS radio, GPS, Compass light be attached to the accessory switch? The Accessory switch goes through a breaker. Should each individual piece of equipment be protected with a fuse/breaker or is the one sufficient?

Re: Accessory Switch Connections

I wouldn't use my last remaining switch for appliances that have on/off switches (radio, gps). are your fuses integrated into your switch panel? if you don't have any more available fuses, you could run a 12V wire direct to each (connect to the switch panel 12V would be fine) either with in-line fuse holders, or else you could add a small plain fuse block.

I'd consider using that switch for a 12V power outlet (cigar lighter), or maybe courtesy lights, something like that. my compass is lit on the same circuit as the instrument panel lighting.

Re: Accessory Switch Connections

go to the marine store, buy a switch panel, and fuse block and expand the system.

this will help.
