The reason I am wondering about freeboard is that I lucked into a fun little project last weekend that you might like to hear about. Any one who is into sailing or is British might have seen a British Seagull motor.
They look like something from the 1920s with a brass remote tank, an exposed flywheel and a tiny little Villiers carb hung off the side. Pull rope start with no recoil. (yes - you wind on the rope to pull it each time) I couldn't resist trying to save it.
After years of restoring old Triumphs this is like a miniature Brit Iron project for me and all the manufacturers are familiar names. These motors are dead simple and will always get you out of a fix if you need them. Or - they will push you along along the lake for very little gas.
Anyway - this is not a Starcraft topic so I'll leave it at that but if I'll send some pictures of it in place if I get her going.
