Somebody brought a 115etl78c motor to my shop.It had a factory installed tag that said use``Champions or A-C m40ffx``.sparkplugs.

Oh, I've heard that old line all my life. But the Johnson factory parts books listed the Champion, AC, and Auto Lite plug numbers for many years.

In my opinion a plug is a plug as long as the design and heat range are correct.
