98 Johnson part swap??

I have a 98 Johnson 55hp(#SJ55RSLM) with the Dura Jet that I would like to make a few mod's to.
This motor has a oddball transom bracket that will not accept a power T&T unit. How hard would it be and what part's would it take to accomplish this?
I have a 82 60 hp here will the lower unit fit the 98?

I know this is a lot of work but the 55 run's great.

your are going to have to match part numbers. and is serious doubt a 16 year difference, they are going to fit.
