Looking at a rebuilder, 225 25 inch shaft. needs piston $1000. Also needs a lower unit as it is shot. Has new computer, ect. Wheaticat@aol.com. Anyone have any parts. What do you think? I could part it if all doesn't go well. Needs trim tilt and hydraulic steering too.
Tim

I doubt that the computer is new -- reprogrammed maybe. If you found someone who needed a spare the computer alone would be worth almost the price.

If it doesnt have all the updates, that'll cost a small fortune too. Sounds like the TNT was the only good thing left and somebody already robbed that.

I would agree with JB and Dhadley. Start parting it out right now, as the future will only cost you more money and grief... Those motors are bad news...

It did say 98 on the sticker. It has a scored cyl. trade in at the dealer.

The '98 sticker is the year in which is was built. New models come out in July or August of the previous year, just like cars did.

Being 5 years old and needing major work, you'd be better off finding a 2000 or 2001 model that was a better design.
