'95 Johnson 20 hp misfiring and wont idle...?

Just got my boat back after 3 weeks of sitting in my mechanics lot. He was converting my motor from tiller to remote steering. Since ive had the motor when at idle speed or in neutral it misfires, sometimes enough to make the motor cut off. Since friday when i got it back its been a little hard to start (considering before i brought it there itd always start on the first pull) and now it dies out when idling or in neutral and the misfires seem to be a little more frequent. I assume the idle issue is carburetor related since it sat for 3 weeks? Maybe i also need to adjust the idle speed? But does anyone have any idea why itd be missing bad? I plan on cleaning the carb and putting new plugs in, hopefully new plugs will help the misfiring?

If a mechanic has just worked on your mtr, I'd take it back to him and find out why it now won't perform properly.
