Re: 91 Mercury 115 Rebuild - Let's see how it goes!
Completed my final link, sync, timing today. (At least for this go around.) Engine ran great. After about 4.5 hrs run time I took it up to 5200RPM several times. Probably have about 15min at WOT.
This is my first experience with a 2+2 and it truly does switch from 2 to 4 very smoothly.
I'd say it's good to go!
Couple of thoughts since this was my first outboard rebuild. It is just nuts and bolts. Not too difficult, very interesting. I exceeded my budget by 100%. For some reason I thought it would cost about $550. With fluids, things I bought in error, another torque wrench, etc, I spent about $1100.
Now I have TWO mercury 115's. A 6Cyl and a 4Cyl. After I get more time on this one I may sell one. Or keep it as a spare?
Thanks to Faztbullet and others who gave helpful information along the way.
