90 hp two stroke Merc.2006

I have a 90 hp Merc two stroke with carberators. A friend of mine wants to trade me for a 2007 90 hp Two stroke Merc with fuel injection.I've heard that the fuel injected model is junk ,too many brakedown. Anyone have an opinion on this. One dealer told me he wouldn't take a boat in trade if it were fuel injected.

Not sure where your dealer is coming from. If it's a 2007 Merc. Optimax 90 hp, it is a very desirable motor. Excellent fuel efficiency and power. We owned a 2005 90 hp. Optimax on our 24' Starcraft, and it was flawless. I don't believe Mercury was offering a 2-stroke 90 w/ efi in 2007, only the direct fuel injection Optimax, but not sure. Good luck !!!
