9.9 Evinrude altitude compensation??

Hi all,

I have a 74 9.9 evinrude,I live at sea level and it runs a top , Ill will be going to a lake that is at 3750 feet. Will I have to change the mixture at all,This is my first eveinrude.

May have to fiddle with air/fuel mix a bit but I doubt it. Oil/gas ratio will be the same. I know with dirt bikes I never really seen a change until over 7000ft that couldn't be adjusted out with the air/fuel screw. Anything over that then they would need a rejet.

I've run my 7.5HP at 5000' without rejetting and it ran fine, but down on power a bit. At 9000' without rejetting, the outboard ran, not great, but it still ran and idled OK, just real doggy, like 3.5HP :D Rejetting for 9000' helped, but it was still a dog, like 4HP :rolleyes:

3700', I wouldn't worry about it.
