Hello,
I have an 89 force 35 in great shape.
The Lower Unit has never allowed water in, in the past,
I have changed the oil several times on same gaskets,
The other day I had a light impact, prop. vs. rock.

The motor never stalled, and still runs great with no apparent damage.

I am changing the crushable gaskets after this oil change, but....
does this scenario sound like the leak may be coming from something damaged by the light impact. A gasket behind the prop or something like that?

This is the first time I have ever hit anything :(

thanks for the help

Re: 89 Force 35- Water in L.U. after prop hit rock...

After this last L.U. oil change, I have noticed a little oil leaking from the water pump intake openings.
It is a slow leak, and the lower unit has been in direct az sunlight for a day.
Could this be from expansion due to heat?
Is there a seal btwn the water intake and the L.U. gear case?

thanks for any help.
