88 Johnson SPL year?

I'm ready to purchase a shop manual for my motor can somebody please tell me the year(S/N G03550896)?<br />I was told when I bought it that it was a '95 <br />but the engine cover is stamped with a '94. Also, my seal leaks on the power trim, is it easier to take out the whole trim unit from the boat to work on it? Thank you.

The model number will tell you what year it is.<br /><br />The trim rams are the two short rams and can be easily worked on without removing the unit. <br /><br />Good luck!
