88' 135hp merc wont pull a skiier out of water

I've got a 1988 Searay. The boat won't pull a skiier out of the water. I can pull a knee boarder out or pull a tube. The boat doesn't have the umph on start up. Takes the boat quite awhile to get up to any type of speed at all. also when i go around corners it seems like the prop free spins. any answers or pointers will help. thanks

what is your RPM when you're at WOT? If it isn't around 5500 than you either need less pitch on your prop or you're not getting proper spark/fuel/ or compression.

What is WOT? The boat runs fine other than that. It's not missing. I've got a 14.5 X 19 on my boat. any other advise. Haven't checked compression.
