I was cleaning things up when I found this hole from the inside of the bracket. I cleared the crud out of it and it then went clear thru to the outside. It connects outside atmosphere or water directly with the pivot shaft keeper, which sits in a race of its own. What was grease inside of this decades ago was dried and crusty. Had to scrape it out. It looks like a zerk fitting would go great here with plenty of reason to put one here. It connects directly to the race the keeper rides in if a grease fitting occupied this hole. The hole is smooth sided, no thread marks on either side, so it looks as if a grease fitting never lived here. But BRP doesn't show a hole or a zerk there. Did someone drill this out? I am so tempted to thread a zerk in there so I can keep the keeper and race packed. Why wouldn't BRP show this? They show other grease fittings.
