In 1983 it was a crank-rated 200. In 1984 it became prop-rated 185. Same engine. Ran a 79 200 for years. A high port engine. Not as good out of the hole, but really liked high rpm's, where it made it's hp. Mine would run right at 6000-strong.

That engine originally came with 582138 power packs. These were the old, unlimited rpm packs. You could really take advantage of the engine's capabilities with them. Newer/replacement packs are all rev limited at 5800-that limits the potential of that engine.

When you say limited, how does the motor perform when you hit the limit? Does it fall off a few hundred RPM then pick up and cycle like that, or does it start to "miss" and just stay at 5800, banging away?
