78 grady white with 4cyl omc tilt trim problems

Just picked up a 78 grady white with 4cyl omc,went to try tilt all it does is selonoid just clicks,Has four seloniods how can i determen which one is bad or any other ideas why it just clicks that may help me with this problem would be greatly appreciated

The problem could be in the motor or the mechanism on the outside of the boat.
Cross the solenoids manualy and see which one clics.Some of the solenoids are for the trim and some for the tilt.Some are for the starter.
You bought a VERY hard/expensive/complicated etc.motor to work on.
The parts are hard to find and finding someone to work on this is tough. The older OMC are JUNK.Sorry for the downer.J

Had an older Grady with the OMC which had two different controls for the Trim / Tilt
The one on the shift control was for the tilt motor under the engine and a seperate switch on the dash was for raising the drive for trailering. You might try looking in the Adults Only sticky section at the top of this page for more tech info. Good Luck
