Hi All,
I have just finished rebuilding my 105 Chrysler and need to know where the factory anode was fitted on these motors. The Clymer manual says that it is located behind the prop, but looking at this space, it doesn't look possible! Are there any other factory locations for zinc anodes on these engines?
Cheers
Lance

If there was one on there it was between the prop thrust hub and the bearing carrier(see pic)It's corroded but thats probably where it would be.J

NO anode on the 73. They did not start using them until 79 when the one piece lower was made.

Aha, that explains why I couldn't find one on mine - Thanks guys.
Next question, where would you recommend I fit one? I can buy a block of zinc and have a small lathe, so I can make one to fit a specific location OR i coulod just buy a bolt-on "tear drop". What are your thoughts?
Cheers

Buy a small one and drill a hole in the cavitation plate and put it on top of the plate.J

You can also thread a pencil zinc and screw it into the top of the head for protection while running (unless you already have a temp sender there.)
