Ok so I've got a 1972 evinrude 18 hp that isn't getting gas on the plugs. I premixed about a gallon of gas with the mixture set for 6 gallons and forgot to actually put the rest of the gas in there. I didn't even realize this until 30 seconds after i cranked it when it promptly died. So i went and added the rest of the gas and then installed new plugs and emptied the gas from the line. After it sat for a day I went and checked to see if the plugs were getting fire and they do. So I dropped it in the water again, now I cant get it to turn over at all.. I have checked the filter but it looked good. I pulled out the spark plugs and after 30 pulls or so they seem dry..shouldn't they be wet? The motor ran great until I did this. And Im trying to avoid spending too much $... Any help would much appreciated!

Try squirting some gas/oil mixture into the carb. If it starts and runs for a short period of tme, maybe you have a fuel delivery problem.
