I just picked up what was to be a 72 65 hp Triumph on Sunday. The controls are of the 76-77 era with the push to choke ignition switch, the outboard also has the provisions for cable shift of the lower unit. The model number on the tag is 65272s according to everything I've read online indicates a 1972 MY, the parts breakdown show a electric shift remote and lower unit. However, this motor clearly does not have the electric shift setup like all other 72's I can find. It also has a 72 cowling and green paint and not the blue like 73's have. I do not have pictures to post right now, but I can get some after work. Is it possible this outboard is a very late '72, but a '73 in all actuality?
